Rubber Adhesion
OMG’s rubber adhesion promoter products improve the bonding of rubber to steel.The cobalt carboxylate provides a highly rubber-soluble form of cobalt that serves as a chemical adhesive, bonding with sulphur in both the vulcanized rubber and the sulphided brass coating of the steel cord. Improved heat-aged and humid-aged adhesion are two significant benefits to be realized with OMG cobalt rubber adhesion promoters.
Although our products are primarily used in the tire industry, they may also be used in applications such as hoses and conveyors where there is a similar need for a strong bond between steel and rubber.
