Cobalt products are incorporated in synthetic fibers used in auto carpet and seat fabrics to prevent growth of fungi, mold and mildew. Nickel products are incorporated in synthetic fibers used in auto carpet and seat fabrics to prevent growth of fungi, mold and mildew. They are also used to create the plastics and polymers from which synthetic fibers are produced.
