Global Responsible Care® Initiative
Responsible Care is a global initiative focused on continuously improving the health, safety and environmental performance of chemical products and processes. OM Group is committed to the principles of the Responsible Care initiative to improve performance, communication, and accountability. This commitment is reflected in the OM Group Environment, Health, Safety and Product Stewardship Policy.
Responsible Care began in Canada in 1985 to address public concerns about the manufacture, distribution, and use of chemicals. It has since expanded to more than 50 countries. Responsible Care is implemented and managed according to each participating country’s laws and the national industry association. In the United States, Responsible Care is run by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), where it is a requirement of membership. OM Group, and other ACC member company, commitments include:
OM Group is a signatory to the international chemical industry Responsible Care Global Charter. We will meet our commitment through continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental, and product stewardship performance, using the principles and management practices of the Responsible Care initiative.
